Three local Seattle TV anchors have effectively turned off their cameras and made the jump over to radio.
The three will work for Northwest Newsradio 97.7/AM 1000. The station said they are “part of a re-branded and re-invigorated news and information format serving most of western Washington.”
Former KIRO news anchor Aaron Wright has joined co-host Marina Rockinger weekday afternoons. The two host a newscast designed specifically for commuters from 3 to 6 p.m. daily.

Long-time KOMO news anchor and reporter Denise Whitaker is expected to join Northwest Newsradio in June. Whitaker, who is currently wrapping a 20 year-career at the ABC affiliate, will join Brian Calvert as co-host of the Northwest Morning News, weekdays from 5 to 9 a.m.

While Chris Nguyen, who most recently anchored for KOMO, will co-host the Northwest Morning News starting April 14 until Whitaker shows up.
