Samsung has unveiled Vision AI, an initiative promising to transform passive screens into intelligent, adaptive companions.
“Samsung sees TVs not as one-directional devices for passive consumption but as interactive, intelligent partners that adapt to your needs,” says SW Yong, President and Head of Visual Display Business at Samsung.
“With Samsung Vision AI, we’re reimagining what screens can do, connecting entertainment, personalisation, and lifestyle solutions into one seamless experience to simplify your life.”
Samsung Vision AI delivers features that enable screens to adapt to their environments and user preferences. By introducing a suite of highly personalised and intuitive capabilities, Vision AI aims to elevate how users interact with their screens while blending into busy lives.
Key features include:
- Click to Search: Ever wondered who the actor is in that film you’re watching? Similar to Amazon’s X-Ray feature on Prime Video, users can identify on-screen elements and explore additional content without disrupting their viewing experience.
- Live Translate: Powered by an advanced on-device AI model, Live Translate tackles language barriers by providing real-time subtitle translations. Whether watching international films or foreign news, Samsung promises that users can “enjoy global content seamlessly.”
- Generative Wallpaper: Elevating personalisation to new heights, Generative Wallpaper turns your TV into an adaptable art canvas. Users can generate images that align with personal tastes or specific occasions.
At the centre of building smarter homes
Vision AI positions Samsung TVs and displays at the centre of smart homes by integrating with the SmartThings ecosystem. Two standout features, ‘Home Insights’ and ‘Pet and Family Care,’ demonstrate how Samsung’s intelligent displays can simplify daily routines.
- Home Insights: Acting as a virtual assistant for your household’s safety and wellbeing, this feature provides real-time updates about home environments. Users are kept informed with alerts and daily summaries, whether at home or away.
- Pet and Family Care: More than just an entertainment device, Vision AI-empowered screens take on a caring role. Monitoring pets and family members, particularly children, the system can recognise unusual behaviours and adjust surroundings accordingly. For instance, it can gently dim lights when a child falls asleep or alert homeowners about significant activities.
Samsung isn’t neglecting the sensory experience either. Vision AI utilises advanced on-device AI to analyse both the content being viewed and the surrounding environment. The system dynamically adapts audio and visuals in real time to ensure that films, games, and other on-screen content look and sound their best.

These technologies have already garnered acclaim, with Vision AI’s features – including Click to Search and Live Translate – earning Samsung a CES 2025 Innovation Award.
Collaborations will expand Samsung Vision AI
Samsung’s vision for intelligent displays extends far beyond its own ecosystem. The company acknowledges the power of partnerships, with notable collaborations helping to enhance and expand the capabilities of Vision AI.
Microsoft will integrate its Copilot AI assistant into Samsung’s new Smart TVs and monitors. According to Samsung, Copilot will deliver a wide range of personalised features, such as bespoke content suggestions and more intuitive controls, enhancing its users’ overall screen interaction.
Samsung isn’t stopping there. Future collaborations, including those with industry heavyweights like Google, are expected to build on the foundation laid by Vision AI to push the boundaries of what personal AI screens can achieve and continue evolving the connected lifestyles of consumers across the globe.
Samsung Vision AI is far more than a product update—it’s a rethinking of how screens fit into our lives. By blending personalisation, accessibility, and advanced AI technologies, Samsung is aiming to redefine the role of TVs and displays for the modern age.
With these developments, Samsung’s latest offering exemplifies its ambition to lead the screen industry into the future, transitioning from traditional functionality into connected, adaptable, and truly smart experiences.
