Reese’s PB&J Sandwich Kits have sold out in record time, mere minutes after debuting on the Hershey website, leaving some fans frustrated they couldn’t get their hands on the limited-time product.
The Hershey Company announced that Reese’s PB&J would make its hotly anticipated debut on April 8, and fans quickly snapped up the limited-time product, leading to an immediate sellout. For those who missed out, a banner pop-up on the product offered the following message.
“We’re sorry! This product has sold out. Sign up for our email list below to stay in the know on future special releases, as well as other product features and promotions. In the meantime, shop our REESE’S assortment for a treasure trove of other chocolate and peanut butter treats.”
The product retailed for $19.99. It included one loaf of Reese’s Chocolatey Bread, a jar of the brand’s Creamy Peanut Butter, a jar of grape jelly, one Reese’s Big Cup PB&J Strawberry Standard Size Peanut Butter Cup Pack, and one Big Cup PB&J Grape Standard Size Peanut Butter Cup Pack.
The idea for this inventive product came after the company decided to prank its customers on April 1 for April Fool’s Day. In an Instagram post, the company said they were “bread serious” about releasing a Reese’s PB&J Sandwich.
Just a week later, the company released the product due to overwhelming customer demand. While there’s no official confirmation on when Hershey might bring back this fan-favorite combination, its widespread popularity indicates it will likely be available again sooner rather than later.
Fans Express Frustration Over Reese’s Product Selling Out Too Fast
In the comments section of Hershey’s Instagram product post, fans expressed their frustration over the quick sellout of the Reese’s PB&J Sandwich Kits. The product’s swift disappearance left many customers unable to snag one before the kits were gone.
“My mom always taught me if you can’t bring enough for everyone don’t bring it at all. How did this sell out in 3 mins?” questioned one Reese’s fan who tried to get their hands on a kit.
A second complained, “Y’all shouldn’t have let people get 3 each it made the product go too fast. Guess I’ll have to make it myself.”
“They are both already sold out. I had it in my cart too,” wrote a third follower.
A fourth noted, “Limit should’ve been 1 per order and had some way to weed out multiple bot buyers. They are just going resell online for three times the price. Disappointing.”
Hershey devotees can still purchase Reese’s PB&J Big Cups at retailers nationwide.
