The next generation of developers is about to get a major boost in their career-readiness.
We at CodeSignal are teaming up with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance to launch a global pilot program aimed at helping over 20,000 students build job-ready skills in cloud computing, software development, and emerging technologies. Kicking off April 17, 2025, in Washington, D.C., this new program—called Skills to Jobs Developer Challenges—will take place virtually across four countries: the United States, Colombia, Malaysia, and Brazil.
Each event serves as hands-on training for students to transition into the tech workforce with gamified coding challenges, experiential learning, interview preparation, and real-world job simulations.

Why this matters now
As technologies and the skills needed for a technical career rapidly evolve, educational institutions and employers are racing to close the skills gap. Skills to Jobs Developer Challenges address this challenge head-on by pairing experiential, gamified learning with skills-based assessment.
“At CodeSignal, we believe that hands-on learning and high-quality assessments are key to launching successful tech careers,” says Tigran Sloyan, CEO at CodeSignal. “Working alongside AWS, we aim to empower learners across multiple regions with the most innovative tools they need to develop their skills and showcase their abilities to secure meaningful employment in the tech industry.”
“By collaborating with CodeSignal, an AWS Education Equity Initiative Awardee, we are ensuring that students not only gain theoretical knowledge, but also develop the practical skills required to succeed in technical and cloud careers.”
Valerie Singer, General Manager for AWS Global Education
Valerie Singer, General Manager for AWS Global Education, echoes the mission: “AWS is committed to creating opportunities for learners to develop in-demand skills that align with the evolving needs of the workforce, today and in the future. By collaborating with CodeSignal, an AWS Education Equity Initiative Awardee, we are ensuring that students not only gain theoretical knowledge, but also develop the practical skills required to succeed in technical and cloud careers.”
Shaping the future of the global tech workforce
This collaboration is part of a broader effort to reshape workforce readiness in the digital age. Through immersive simulations and real-world assessments, students get the opportunity to practice the same skills they’ll need in interviews—and on the job.
As an AWS Education Equity Initiative Awardee, we at CodeSignal are continuing to drive our mission of delivering scalable, skills-based solutions that connect learning to opportunity. And with plans to expand the initiative into more regions later this year, this is just the beginning.
