Church’s Texas Chicken has entered the so-called “chicken wars,” presenting a new dessert called the Pumpkin Cheesecake Fried Pie to its customers.
QSR reports that, for a limited time, Church’s Texas Chicken customers can get a Pumpkin Cheesecake Fried Pie for $1.79 each, or $5.99 for four.
“The combination of these flavors creates a delightful blend of creamy, pumpkin spice, and crunchy textures, making it a unique and indulgent dessert option,” Chef Kevin Houston said to the outlet.
“Now that fall is in full swing, Church’s Texas Chicken, one of the largest quick-service chicken restaurant chains in the world, is introducing a new mouth-watering and delicious dessert to its menu for a limited time — Pumpkin Cheesecake Fried Pie,” a spokesperson for the restaurant said to RetailWire in a statement. “This delicious dessert features a crispy, flaky turnover-style crust filled with layers of spiced pumpkin pie filling, sweet vanilla cheesecake base, and graham cracker crumbs.”
The pies will only be available until Dec. 26.
Church’s Texas Chicken Enters the So-Called ‘Chicken Wars’
The so-called “chicken wars” are in full swing, and the popular fast-food chain is now going up against KFC’s Original Recipe Tenders.
An official press release states that the $5 Tenders Box, which comes with three tenders, Secret Recipe Fries, and two signature sauces — including the new Comeback Sauce and Sticky Chicky — will also feature these double hand-breaded tenders, which are created with KFC’s proprietary combination of 11 herbs and spices.
In an attempt to capitalize on the existing rivalry amongst fast-food chains, KFC has released a comical ad campaign inviting rivals to “suit up” in order to promote this introduction. KFC intends to provide free samples of the tenders on Oct. 17 in a few locations, including Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Atlanta, in an effort to interact with customers directly.
KFC is also adding new Cherry Pie Poppers to its menu, which have a flaky crust with warm cherry filling, and a refreshing Cranberry Lemonade. Special offers are also available to customers, such as a $24.99 Tenders & Nuggets Family Meal and a number of daily promotions through KFC Rewards from Oct. 19 to 31.
